- When strong winds are expected, lower your flag to avoid additional wear and early damage.
- Leaving the flag up overnight nearly doubles your exposure to the wind; if possible, lower it at sunset and raise it in the morning.
- The best material to choose is woven polyester cloth because it is more resilient to heavy winds. Light to moderate breezes are optimal for flying knit polyester.
- Flags must be allowed to fly freely; keep them away from structures and other objects to prevent wear from friction.
- Flags flown continuously endure 3 to 9 months, but if taken inside at night and out of severe winds, they can live up to 2 years.
